It was August of 2002 that they first met. Christian was 6 years old and Tiffany was just 5. Christian had moved in right across the street with his parents and newborn brother. The two began their relationship, just as friends, but there was always something special there. They would play “house” in the backyard of each other’s homes. They would pretend that their siblings, Stephanie and Austin were their kids and it was their responsibility to feed the kids grass salads and dirt pie. One summer day, playing house, Tiffany and Christian snook around the back of the toy log cabin house and puckered up for the first time. Needless to say Christian and Tiffany exchanged their first kiss at just 6 and 7 years old. This friendship lasted about 2 years before Christian had to move away.
While they were separated Christian would visit his dad, who still lived across the street. Tiffany recalls looking out the window as Christian would come home for the weekend. She would always make a point to express her disgust with his hair style and say ewww. Fortunately Christian and his brother returned to Bolingbrook to live fulltime with their dad in 2010. After 5 or 6 years of only briefly seeing each other, Christian made the first move on Halloween. Of course, little did he know, Tiffany was deathly afraid of his clown costume so that did not go over very well. Christian eventually got the digits and they began to text and catch up from the many years of no contact. At the time, Tiffany was attached to the hip with her best-friend, Gema. Gema, Tiffany, and Christian began to hangout, on occasion. They would play tag, have “leaf fights”, and walk around the neighborhood talking about teen stuff. Tiffany also had created a very special bond with the neighbors next door. The “The Kids House” was their hangout and go-to spot when they wanted to be with each other. One day, at “The Kids House” everyone was having a snowball fight and Christian and Tiffany snuck to the backyard, perfectly out of sight of everyone. That is when Tiffany made the first move and kissed Christian. Shortly after school let out for the summer vacation, Christian took his Great Grandmother down to Tennessee to see their family. On the way back, Tiffany decided she wanted to make their relationship official. Tiffany was told she was not allowed to date until she entered high school. Since Tiffany had just finished Middle School, she saw this as the perfect time. That day, she waited for her dad to get home, and as soon as he did, she went into the kitchen to ask him if she was allowed to date Christian. To which he responded yes. The next step was her texting Christian very excited, telling him they were official and could now begin dating. Christian got home shortly after and decided to take her on a walk. He was greeted at the front door with her father and very protective dog to ensure he knew not to mess around.
After about a year into their relationship, Christian and Tiffany were involved in a bad accident resulting in Tiffany fracturing her hip in two places. After being released from the hospital, they had a very serious talk about the future. It was at this point where the two knew just how much they meant to each other and that neither wanted to go on in life without the other. Tiffany recalls saying to Christian “you are now stuck with me forever, I hope you know that”. With a lot of tension from this accident, it was a very large stepping stone in their relationship and proved just how strong their love is.
Having pets has always been a big part of Christian and Tiffanys life. Their first pet was a Florida Yellow Belly Turtle, who they named Mia; to later find out that Mia was actually a male and was renamed to Mio. Shortly after Mio, came his girlfriend and life-mate Tesla (yes, named after the best car ever). With two turtles, the couple couldn’t help but want more animals together. Throughout the years they have had multiple dogs, including fostering a few. Tiffany has also convinced Christian that cats aren’t as bad as he thought, so they have cats as well. The family line up today is Nate, Molly, Mara, Boo, Tesla, and Mio.
After getting engaged, the couple decided that they needed to look at getting their own space that they could grow together in. It wasn’t long before the perfect starter home was up for sale just 0.9 miles away from where their parents live. They both went to look at the house and saw the amazing potential it had and closed on the house about 1 ½ months later. Wasting no time they began moving in on the same day as closing even though it was pouring rain. Christian and Tiffany have lived in their house for two years now, and have taken on many projects to make the house their home.
They are now ready to take their 8 year relationship to the next level by vowing to each other to always care and love one another for richer or for poor and through sickness and health.
